Frequency Asked Questions

Do I need a referral to see you?

No! Physical therapists have "Direct Access" in Virginia. A physical therapist can evaluate and treat you without a referral/prescription from a physician.

Do you take insurance?

Made Well Mama Physical Therapy & Wellness is a cashed based practice only. Service pricing is known upfront with no surprise bills! Often times, cashed based therapy is a better value as clients often have high deductibles and co-pays. Without being controlled by insurance reimbursement requirements, I am able to treat your body as a whole, personally work with you for each session and spend more time with you, leading to you getting better in fewer therapy sessions.

How can I pay for services?

Made Well Mama Physical Therapy & Wellness accepts all major credit and debit cards to include Health Spending Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA). Putting a credit card on file is required to book, but you will be charged at the time of your service.

How many physical therapy visits will I need?

All mamas progress and heal differently. Your plan of care will be determined after the comprehensive initial evaluation. I believe it is important for you to be an active participant in your care, so I will work with you to come up with the plan that will work best for you. Mama's are typically not seen more than once weekly and often times with weeks between sessions. I will do what works for you, one session is better than no sessions!

What do you consider "postpartum"?

Postpartum can be from the moment you give birth until forever! I believe it is never too late to work on an issue you may be having and its never to late to start an exercise program. Contact me, I would love to help you!

Do I have to have human children to see you?

Absolutely not! You are a mama if you have ever supported, advocated for, cared for, loved, encouraged, motivated, helped someone or something. This may be you own child or could be your neighbor, coworker, an acquaintance, family member or a pet!

What do I need to do to prepare for my in home visit?

Not much! We will need some space to move around and set up a mobile table. You can dress comfortably, in non restrictive clothing. Other than that, I will bring the rest!

What do I need to do to prepare for my telehealth/virtual visit?

If you are using an iPhone or iPad, you will want to go to the App Store and download the "Jane Online Appointments" app. You can watch a very short video tutorial that will walk you through connecting to you video appointment. You will need some space to move around during our call. If you have a yoga mat and would like to use it that's great, but it is not required! Dress comfortably, in non restrictive clothing. Call or shoot me an email if you are having trouble connecting!

What is your cancellation policy?

Everyone's time is valuable. Out of respect for other clients, I ask that you give at least 24 hour notice if you need to cancel/reschedule an appointment. For appointments cancelled or rescheduled less than 24 hours in advance, you will be charged 50% of your service fee. I do understand last minute situations do arise. Please email me if an emergency arises less than 24 hours before your appointment. I greatly appreciate your cooperation!

What are your Covid-19 policies/procedures?

For in home visits, I will screen for signs/symptoms of covid-19 before coming to your home. I will also wear a mask (unless otherwise agreed upon) and gloves while inside your home. You can be assured that all equipment will be disinfected between patients. I ask that you screen for signs/symptoms of Covid-19 in both yourself and family members before I arrive for our scheduled appointment.
